Weddings were one of the most heavily hit industries due to Coronavirus, otherwise known as Covid-19.  Initially most big days had to be cancelled, and then rescheduled for other days. Some individuals tied the knot with smaller ceremonies anyways, holding off to do bigger do’s with family and friends. But even know, there are a number of couples who are simply unsure when coronavirus will subside enough for them to marry.

The United Kingdom (UK) government put in place guidelines aiming to keep everyone who plans on having a wedding or Civil Partnership safe. Marriages and civil partnerships are a vital part of our society, uniting couples to start their new life together and affording certain legal rights. These ceremonies are often followed by receptions and other celebrations attended by guests that are known to one another.

In order to keep safe,  wedding planners have been advised to constantly keep check of tier levels. Evidence a company has not adhered to the rules will result in fines, and at worse, imprisonment. Weddings can take place in all tiers but there are certain rules. Tier levels outlined below. It should be noted, an area can move from one Tier level to another in the space of a few hours/days. You’re permitted to travel from one Tier level to another.

Tier 1 (Medium Alert)

Tier 2 (High Alert)

Tier 3 (Very High Alert)

Tier 4 (Stay At Home)

It is advised that ceremonies are kept as short as reasonably possible. In Tiers 1, 2, and 3, weddings and civil partnership ceremonies may take place with certain restrictions. No one who works may attend.  In Tiers, 1 & 2, wedding receptions may host 15 people but in Tier 3, wedding receptions are not allowed.

In Tier 4, weddings may only take place in exceptional circumstances and only 6 people may attend. No one who is working may attend. Exceptional circumstances include life changing surgery and debilitating illnesses.

Whilst this may mean, some wedding services are facing a downturn. This blog post is aimed at providing UK wedding bloggers with an extra alternative income provided with Get Blogged.
