Los Angeles: Dating in a Difficult time

Located in Southern California, the states biggest city, adjacent to the pacific coast, home to Hollywood. We literally all grow up hearing the words Los Angeles. Known for its beautiful weather, laid back vibe, innovation, and great dating scene, like the rest of the world, commerce has grinded to a halt and people are being told to stay indoors.

With a population of 13 million people, there is a niche, and circle for everyone. But just like in every other metropolis, loneliness, and isolation is rife. 3 out of 4 Americans self report being lonely, therefore as a group we need to think of initiatives to aid reintegration back into society for those who feel sidelined. And one way that can be done is encouraging people to sign up to dating apps.

Everyone on a dating app is looking to meet someone for one reason or another, that starts as a very good basis to curb loneliness. Many platforms have created avenues on said sites for purely platonic relationships catering to those who are A-sexual or Grey A.

As of right now, Los Angeles is facing an indefinite lockdown under a State Mandated Public Health Order. Public transportation has been banned, as has most non essential. Like in the UK, this was done to stop an already overwhelmed healthcare system from collapsing. Potentially, Los Angeles will leave lockdown at the end of the month but this is still unclear. In the meantime, it may be worth checking out Los Angeles Personals.

Personals became popular from the 90’s onwards, similar to an advertisement in the newspaper an individual states what they’re looking for and waits to get replies. This is when you say you cannot meet right now!

It may be a while before the 13 million people in Los Angeles feel safe venturing out in face to face dating again. It depends on how fast vaccines are rolled out and if the virus mutates. That however doesn’t mean you cannot form new friendships with people online, just don’t feel pressured to meet and manage your expectations.
